Media Producer

As a Trifoia Media Producer, you will produce multimedia training content in various formats, ranging from 4K videos to images, graphics, and animated sequences, covering diverse training topics. This role involves leading video production, post-production, and editing to produce high-quality media assets for online training courses while collaborating closely with instructional designers and subject matter experts. Responsibilities include resource management, project coordination, content development, and securing rights and licenses for external media. This role may require working independently on media production and travel to filming locations. This position requires experience demonstrating initiative, problem-solving abilities, experience in media production, proficiency with industry-standard software, creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to engage with emerging tools, software, and workflows.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce and Edit Multimedia Content: Film, produce and edit multimedia content in a variety of formats, including 4K video, photos, archival documents, and animated sequences, across a diverse range of topics. Styles may vary from documentary-style films to scenario-based instruction and “how-to” videos modeling best practices.
  • Work Cooperatively with Instructional Designers: Work closely with the Trifoia Digital Training Services (DTS) team of instructional designers from the initial ideation stage to execution and project completion.
  • Lead Media Production and Post-Production: Take the lead in both the production and post-production phases for all video-based media content. Work cooperatively with other DTS team members and clients during ideation.
  • Video and Audio Editing: Edit video assets to complete post-production tasks, resulting in finalized media segments for online and hybrid training courses.
  • Resource Management: Estimate project requirements to determine resources and capacity. Identify additional resources required to meet project deadlines, including the hiring of contractors (audio mixing, voice-over artists, animators, etc.) when necessary.
  • Project Coordination: Gather project estimates, scout locations, audition talent, and manage on-location media production activities. Create shot lists and maintain a production schedule.
  • Content Development: Contribute to the development of treatments for media segments and assist in script creation.
  • Multimedia Production: Work as part of a team or independently as needed to produce animated graphic sequences and infographics.
  • Content Ideation: Work cooperatively with other members of the DTS creative team to identify compelling story ideas and determine the appropriate content format (live action, stand and deliver, animated segments, infographics, still photos, etc.) to meet instructional goals for each project.
  • Resource and Timeline Management: Effectively manage media production project resources and production timelines, including budget management.
  • Rights Acquisition: Cooperate with the DTS project team to secure all essential licenses, permissions, and rights for external media, assets, and content needed for production, in strict adherence to copyright and usage regulations.
  • Self-Reliant Production: When required, work independently, assuming all responsibilities for media segment production without relying on contractors. Proficiencies, at minimum, include videography, lighting, video and audio editing, animation, encoding, and digital file management.
  • Location Shoots: Occasional travel to on-site filming locations as required by project demands.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possess extensive experience in some, and generalizable skills in all facets of film production, including operation of 4K cameras, industry-standard video and audio software, media encoding and compression techniques, audio mixing and sweetening, media file management, and the ability to effectively direct on-location shoots.
  • Ability to hire or work alongside external contractors and agencies, overseeing and coordinating shoots, leading production efforts, directing on-set, and managing the post-production phase.
  • Direct crew and talent on location and in the studio, including working with subject matter experts and actors to ensure they feel at ease while filming. This includes producing and editing voiceover talent in-house or with voiceover artists in the studio.
  • Networking with local videographers, editors, audio vendors, and talent regionally (Pacific Northwest) and in other regions of the country as productions require.
  • Creativity and attention to detail with a focus on storytelling.
  • Planning, budgeting, and vendor negotiation.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and anticipate and solve problems.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Create Suite and other professional video and audio hardware and software.
  • Written communication and professional demeanor.

Instructional Designer

As an Instructional Designer, you play a pivotal role on the eLearning team. Your responsibilities involve the gathering, organization, editing, and generation of content for eLearning courses. You will engage cooperatively with clients, subject matter experts, project managers, eLearning developers, media developers, and software engineers to produce high-quality deliverables tailored to meet the unique needs of learners and clients.
You will maintain close communication with clients, subject matter experts, and end users to discern requirements, project specifications, course roadmaps, and the delineation of project scope. In addition, some projects will provide opportunities to conduct design research. To be successful, you must have great interpersonal skills and client management capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand end-user needs and course/project goals.
  • Work with clients and SMEs to establish course roadmaps, write learning objectives, outline instructional approaches, and determine methods for tracking proposed outcomes.
  • Conduct design research information gathering. Depending on the project, this may include user interviews, creating and distributing surveys, contextual inquiry activities, usability testing, journey mapping, persona development, empathy mapping, ethnographic studies, participatory design, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Gather and organize client-generated materials and assets.
  • Work closely with the eLearning Manager to determine what course assets need to be developed.
  • Write course content and copy-edit collateral assets. This includes writing scripts, knowledge checks, interactive exercises, and course descriptions.
  • Ensure content matches the established learning objectives.
  • Develop course assets and build learning packages in Rise and Articulate Storyline for some projects.
  • Communicate features and capabilities information to eLearning Developers and software developers for complex projects.
  • Formulate and execute the accessibility strategy for all project accessibility requirements.
  • Other instructional design tasks, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have demonstrable skill and ability in instructional design, eLearning, or related fields.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of pedagogy and instructional design methodology.
  • Experience with course authoring tools – specifically Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise)
  • Ability to effectively and professionally represent the company both verbally and in written communication, this includes communicating instructional design best practices to clients & colleagues.
  • Ability to write scripts and other content in a wide range of voices and for a wide range of audiences to meet project objectives.
  • Familiarity with common features of a variety of learning management systems.
  • Experience with WCAG (2.0) accessibility standards and how to apply them to course builds.
  • Must have organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail.
  • Must be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Competent ability and willingness to effectively use remote work and productivity tools (Asana, Dropbox, Slack, StackOverflow for Teams, ZOOM).

 

Other skills and qualifications not required but considered advantageous to the position:

  • Degree or advanced certification in eLearning, instructional design, software development, or related fields.
  • General knowledge and familiarity with other eLearning and online course authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and others.
  • Experience managing projects, timelines, and people.
  • Experience with curriculum development as well as instructional design.
  • Experience using xAPI and SCORM in LMS and LRS applications.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter managing projects to completion.
